Comparing Dickens and Bulwer-Lytton

As a follow-up to yesterday's post about the Bulwer-Lytton prize, here's a test you can take to see if you can tell the difference between Charles Dickens and Edward Bulwer-Lytton. I love Dickens, so I was shocked to find that I only scored 50% on this test. Via The Bulwer-Lytton Fiction Contest Page.

I only scored 58 per cent, I was not too happy as I don't like scoring low on tests.

However, I do know that simply comparing or rating extracts taken out of context is not a scientificially credible way of assessing anything, so I don't think we should feel too bad about it.

I'll try to remind myself of that. It's a little comforting to know that I'm not the only one who scored low-ish!
